Dawei Yao graduated from Laiyang Agricultural College in 2004 and studied Clinical Veterinary Medicine (Msc, PhD) at Nanjing Agricultural University, completing PhD in 2010. Following a post-doctoral position at National center of meat quality and safety control, Dawei Yao worked as a teacher at Nanjing Agricultural University in 2012.
