CVM has a high-level appropriately-structured faculty and comprehensive disciplines, and determined and committed research teams. The college now consists of 128 faculty members, including 45 professors, 26 associate professors, associate researchers, senior veterinarians, senior experimenters, and 24 lecturers and experimenters. In the faculty, there are 38 doctoral supervisors and 66 master's supervisors.

Among the teachers, there are three “outstanding national agricultural research talents”, two distinguished professors of Jiangsu Province, one “China’s Most Cited Researchers”, one provincial-and-ministerial-level “Scientists of Outstanding Achievement”, the National Youth Outstanding Talents, and 13 teachers were selected into the talent training programs of the Ministry of Education, and of Jiangsu Province. There are also four teachers who enjoy special government allowances from the State Council, two who have been honored Zhongshan Chair Professor of Nanjing Agricultural University, six who have been honored young backbone researchers of Nanjing Agricultural University, and one who has been honored the provincial excellent college counselor.
